Feeding Hum is a humming bird feeding on an apple blossom. The yellow background is due to the sun rising behind the bird. The ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) is a species of humming bird that generally spends the winter in Central America, Mexico, and Florida, and migrates to Canada and other parts of Eastern North America for the summer to breed. It is the most common hummingbird in eastern North America.
These hummingbirds are very common in the wooded bluff lands along the river. Hovering in front of a flower to sip nectar, it beats its wings more than 50 times per second.
These tiny birds can fly forwards, backwards and even hover in place. They are the smallest migrating bird.
