This image was taken during the 2024 spring Flood Run in Nelson WI. The weather wasn’t the best so the riders were few but as tradition has it, the law enforcement people were out in full force to keep the riders honest and prevent DUI’s.

The Flood Run is a charity motorcycle ride that benefits Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare. The ride has grown over the years and is one of the largest motorcycle runs in the United States. The original Flood Run took place in 1965 on Minnesota Highway 61 to Winona to help sandbag during the floods.

Many of the founders ended up serving the country in the Vietnam War and had to take a break for a few years, The Flood Run has been a charity event since its inception.
